SketchOSM Functions

This extension is designed to help you create quick, low detail level parametric models for site context. It basically operates as an extension to Placemaker, the one click city building extension, giving you a toolset for quickly adding buildings to your city models that don’t already exist in Open Street Map.
Basically, the way it works is that you can trace out the base of a building, then click the button for “Create buildings” with the face selected to start creating your building. This will allow you to begin adding attributes to your building, like heights, different roof shapes, and more.
You can adjust the color of your buildings that are created as well.
Once you’ve created a building, one of the cool things you can do is sample the settings of your building and apply it to other buildings as well, allowing for quick creation of things like neighborhoods.
Theoretically you can go in and update a building footprint with the edit building outline tool, though I haven’t quite been able to get that working yet.
You can also create complex, multi part buildings with the “Create Complex Buildings” tool. You just draw your building outline, then come back in and add the parts within that group.
Finally, you can also upload your models to Open Street Map to share them, allowing others to download these models. My assumption is that these will also now be downloadable within Placemaker.
