PathCopy for SketchUp Function Description
PathCopy is a very simple SketchUp Extension designed to help you copy objects along paths. Applications for this include architecture, landscape architecture, woodworking, and much more. From copying trees along roads to balusters along stair paths, this extension is great for many different applications.
How PathCopy Works
Simply select the path you’d like to copy along, then activate PathCopy from the extensions menu above, then click on your object. It will then be copied along the path. To adjust spacing, type in a spacing value and hit the “Enter” key. You can also set if objects are placed based on a spacing value, or if they’ll be placed on the path’s vertices.
For paths with more than one line segment, sometimes it makes more sense to place objects along each individual segment, and sometimes it makes sense to use the extension “Weld” to create a single, uninterrupted path along which you copy objects – it just depends on what you’re trying to create.
