Fredo Guides is a brand new, free extension from Fredo6 designed to expand the functionality of guides inside of SketchUp.
It contains a number of different tools for working with guides inside of SketchUp.
The first is a function for protecting different guides. As a lot of you know, one way to quickly get rid of guides in SketchUp is to click on the delete guides function in the edit menu. However, this gets rid of all guides. Sometimes, there are guides you want to keep and guides you want to get rid of. Protect guides allows you to select different guides and protect them so they don’t get deleted.
There’s also a really handy toggle to change the stipple line style of any guides that you have protected so you can quickly change
The second is a quick function for hiding and showing guides. Sometimes you just want to turn your guides off without deleting them. This button will quickly hide or show all guides in your model.
The third option is an option for quickly changing the color of guides in your model. This can be especially helpful for models like this one, where the dark of the guides doesn’t always stand out that well from the other colors.
